Building Interior Decorating of Nottingham Trent University by Hopkins Architects. The project will secure the long term future of both grade II* listed buildings as well as providing a vibrant new entrance, social and teaching heart to its city centre campus.
The scheme uses the residual space between the two buildings, which were never designed to work together, to elegantly join these existing buildings and provide a new main entrance from Goldsmith Street opening onto a covered central court and link building.
Redundant engineering workshops occupying the lower two levels of the Newton building have been transformed into a suite of state of the art lecture theatres and teaching rooms, defining a large central forum space designed to promote informal academic interaction and study that flows into the central court at both levels.
